There have recently been a number of sightings of a mink along the section of the Brook between the Gravel Hill road bridge and downstream to the steel footbridge before the Railway Walk viaduct. The mink is considered a pest, and will prey on the water vole population, which is just getting re-established. The South Staffordshire District Council Landscape manager has alerted the local Wildlife Trust, and it is anticipated that traps will placed in order to capture the mink.
