Inaugural Meeting 19th October

You will no doubt have seen the notices posted in the village advertising tonight’s event which will be held at the Council Chambers, Wombourne, at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday 19th October for the volunteer group, known as the ‘Friends of Wom Brook’, in order to elect officers and an executive committee, as part of the process towards establishing the group as a charitable trust.

The group would welcome all those interested in playing an active part in the work of this future organisation!

Programme 2004-2005

Tree Management – Have your say
December 2004

Have your say on more proposed tree management for the Wom Brook.
Pollarding bank side willows aims to keep the trees safe, prolong their life and
improve habitat for water voles. We’d like your comments! The plan will be
available at South Staffordshire Council offices and Wombourne Library.

Wildlife Walk Launch Event
Friday 21st January 2005

Join volunteers and guests to officially launch the project and a new leaflet
for the Wom Brook, with a guided walk. Light refreshments provided.

Otter Holt Day
Sat 2nd April 2005 10.00 am -3.00 pm
Help build a log-pile otter holt on the brook for passing otters to use as
a safe hide-out. We need at least 5 volunteers to help us.

Water vole & Otter Surveys

Fri 10th June 2005 1.00 pm -6.00 pm
Sat 11th June 2005 10.00 am – 4.00pm
Help carry out surveys to find signs of voles and otters using the brook. Learn
