The Wom Brook blog is back after lying dormant for 10 months. As the editor, I apologise for the long absence, but if you read our ‘About ‘ section in this blog, you’ll be able to read some of the reasons for that absence.
We thought we’d better resurrect our web presence as the Friends of Wom Brook volunteer-run conservation group, based in Wombourne, South Staffordshire, are shortly to feature briefly on BBC1’s new series ‘Nature of Britain‘, presented by Alan Titchmarsh.

In late August last year, the BBC sent a film crew, along with one of the BBC’s Coast presenters, Miranda Krestovnikoff to record the conservation work of the Friends group, and especially to look at a prime focus of the group’s work, namely their work associated with protecting the water voles.
The BBC have told us that the series will shortly begin - please look out for one of the regional features in that series, linked to the Birmingham area.
